Claes Oldenburg – City Installations

Oldenburg is known for his pop art background and the fun, playful nature of his work. His work often involves experimenting with material or simply creating visual treats for the casual passersby. It’s these visual treats that I am most interested in. While it is fairly difficult to miss Oldenburg’s installations, I feel they relate quite closely to my own work in that they both have a similar context and purpose. Perhaps I could try to incorporate this Oldenburg’s playful quality into my own city installations through the textures of my gap pieces?
