Doodle MugsPosted: May 6, 2016
These mugs were formed from a series of random scribbles which I then turned into these rediculous faces. Each is built by hand but at the moment only exists as a prototype. I see these being quite popular commercially, with their humour being used to draw people in.
In order to sell these commercially I’d probably make 1 perfect cup of each type and proceed to plaster cast it. However I don’t want to make complete copies so I’d probably play around with the decoration of each one.
The use of the random scribble as a starting point is what I feel has given these vessels character. The quick movement of the pen serving to act as an liberation of pressure, which in the end results remind me of Quentin Blake’s style of drawing.
